More than 50% of victims of sexual assault are children, and sexual abuse can have a long-lasting and devastating impact on their mental health. Living with abuse is a fearful, demoralising life. It’s no childhood at all.

The statistics are very upsetting. Worldwide, as many as nine million girls aged 15 to 19 were forced into sexual intercourse or other sexual acts within the past year.

Since the helpline opened in 2015, the counsellors have provided crisis counselling to over 1,400 adults and children, and access to other vital support services for more than 3,900 survivors. We’ve helped callers experiencing violence, relationship problems, risk of suicide and child abuse.
